About me

Hey, im Charlotte and this is my blog where I celebrate food and cooking. I am an interior designer and passionate cook who is always thinking about food. I live in Germany, but spent my childhood in Spain and the UK, where I had the pleasure to experience very different styles of cooking.

My food philosophy is to eat seasonal, whole foods, healthy fats and natural sugar alternatives. Making salads and healthy vegan bowls is great, but snacks, juices and delicious deserts are just as important. I love to create healthy plant-based recipes that win over my friends’ approval. It is not always easy for a kale salad to be as convincing as a pizza, but I am always up for this challenge and it feels even more rewarding when everyone is happy with the meal.

As an interior designer I have learnt to master the sense of wellbeing in a space, but more than that, I am interested in the entire concept of wellness - whole foods, exercise, mental health, and mindfulness.

Cooking makes me happy. For many people it feels like a task, but when I cook, I relax and feel like I am designing the perfect taste. I love caring for others and putting a smile on people’s faces. Food connects us and is therefore a great means to nourish relationships and get people to come together.

During the last semester of my Master’s degree, as I was writing my thesis, the global pandemic completely changed our daily routine. Both my boyfriend and I started working from home full-time and had to start being especially creative, preparing 2-3 meals a day. In times like these, our physical and mental health seems more important than ever, and so we started to inform ourselves about what foods can boost our immune system while satisfying our love for tasty meals.

This past year has been difficult but has essentially allowed me to spend even more time at home crafting and experimenting with delicious new recipes. Right now, we are all spending more time at home, which is why I would love to share some of my recipes with you. Remember that these recipes are here to inspire you, but as I personally love to freestyle in the kitchen, I definitely advise you to do the same. Be creative and remember there is always room for interpretation, add a little more of this or a little less of that, to make any recipe your own.
